Crooks & Lovers

I've mentioned it a fair few times already now, so its needless to say Mount Kimbie's debut long player 'Crooks & Lovers' has been way up high on my list of musical 'wants' so far this year. Having listened a number of times over the past month or so, I must admit that this album has vastly surpassed my expectations of the duo's fine craft of such a stunning album, certainly a contender for my favourite album this year. Dom Maker and Kai Campos have explored so many untouched areas with this record, from the sublime and delightfully playful numbers like 'Mayor' and 'Before I Move Off' to the more gritty and technical tracks like 'Field' or 'Carbonated'. In promotion of such a great record 'Field', taken from 'Crooks & Lovers' has been made available for free download (either below or check Juno Here for 192/320/WAV options) and the full album is also available to preview exclusively with FACT Magazine right now. 'Crooks & Lovers' by Mount Kimbie is out on the 19th July via Hotflush Recordings and available to order from Juno and Boomkat now.
